Love your Flaws
An Infinite Love-what does this mean? To me, the infinity sign means the continual ebb and flow of life. Add love to the symbol and now we have the continual flow of love, specifically self-love. I want to have a faith so strong in myself, a love so deep of who I am, that I know within my soul anything is possible.
The ebb and flow also remind me that life is life, and we are humans. There can‘t be all highs, and there won’t be all lows. Like a stream weaving it’s way to the ocean, the journey is varied and crosses a vast terrain.
I believe the best start to loving yourself more is to name the trait, characteristic, or physical feature, you like least about yourself. This is your bar. Until you start healing and loving this trait, you are putting conditions on your love of self and others. How many times have we said “I love you, but…” Most often a perceived flaw we see in ourselves is the first flaw we see in others. The universe has a way of continually putting a mirror in front of us. This mirror either reflects ourselves or highlights traits we should lean into. As within, so without. Our inner world will be reflected in our outer world. This is how the universe helps us to learn, grow, and love more.
Loving a feature you don’t particularly like about yourself doesn’t’ happen overnight. It’s hard to go from zero to hero in the blink of an eye. Acceptance is the first step. Accept how you feel, the circumstances leading to the lack of self-love, and the patience to grow. In turn, you will build a better relationship with yourself, and that self-love bar will keep moving higher and higher!
